Dr. Richard Walter Coller
Dr. Richard Walter Coller of Kapaa passed away on Dec. 23, 2017, at Garden Isle Health Care in Wilcox Hospital at the age of 92. He was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota in Ramsey County, on Aug. 29, 1925.
He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946, in the European and Pacific campaigns. He later went on to receive his PhD in Sociology in 1959, from the University of Minnesota. After teaching for 34 years, he retired from Kauai Community College in 1984.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Coller; wife, Alicia Peruda Coller; son, Louis Coller and daughter, Margarite (Kent Kaui-deceased) Coller.
He is survived by his brother, Reverend Jerome Coller OSB; sister, Mary (Richard) Trisko; children, Ann (Kevin) Arnold, James Coller, Katherine (Perry) Alisna, Susan (Dennis) Akutagawa, William (Roxanne) Coller, Mark Coller, Claire Coller, Ruth (Mark) Forbes, Patrick (Yukimi) Coller; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Saint Catherine’s Church with viewing from 8:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
Luncheon after burial at St. Catherine’s Parish Hall.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with the arrangements.
Damon K. Yorkman
Damon K. Yorkman passed away on Jan. 15, 2018, at the age of 48 in Makati City in the Philippines. He was born on May 4, 1969, and was self-employed.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Craddock C. Yorkman and Ruth L. Yorkman; maternal grandparents, Alfredo “Pidong” Eclipse and Salvacion A. Eclipse.
He is survived by his sons, Kalen Bagano of Honolulu, Taurus Yorkman of Claremore, OK; daughter, Shylee Yorkman of Vinita, OK; parents, Gilroy M. Yorkman (Marilyn Yamaguchi)/Lillian Eclipse; sisters, Shay L. Yorkman of Lihue, Natasha Capay of Lihue; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 4587 Amakihi Rd, Kekaha. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and services to follow.
Casual attire requested. Flowers welcome.
Evangeline R.L Evans Kaleiohi ‘Vangie’
Evangeline R.L Evans “Vangie” of Kalaheo, Kauai passed away on Nov. 25, 2017, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. She was born on Feb. 1, 1935, in Papaa, Kauai.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ephraim and Evangeline Kaleiohi Sr.; brothers, Ephraim Jr “Moosey”, Samuel “Buff”, Abraham “Opu”, Edward “Eddie”, Robert, and Phillip; sisters, Winifred “Winnie” and Evelyn.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Sonny) Naylor, David Evans, John (Corina) Evans, Angela (Larry) Revilla, Dot (Tia) Evans; brothers, Joseph Kaleiohi and Theodore (Peddy) Kaleiohi; sisters, Phyllis Goias and Daisy Goias; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grand children, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at the Lydgate South Comfort Station with visitation starting at 9 a.m. Services at 10 a.m. Spreading of ashes will be done at a later date.
