LIHUE — Nonprofit organizations that provide human services to the people of Kauai are invited to apply for Kauai United Way funding for the period of July 2018 through June 2019, said Scott Giarman, KUW executive director.
Representatives from these organizations have until Feb. 5 to contact Lori Almarza, KUW office manager, at 245-2043 of their intent to apply to KUW.
“Every year, Kauai United Way invites qualified nonprofit, human-service organizations that meet minimum requirements to apply to become a partner agency,” said Giarman. “No agency is permanent. Each must be thoroughly reviewed every year at the time we consider picking up new partner agencies.”
Qualifications include having broad community support, two years of service to the Kauai community, and 501(c)(3) status, as well as active support of the KUW mission of being the island’s umbrella charitable organization, providing an easy and powerful way for anyone — even those with limited financial resources — with an interest in helping the people of Kauai make a big impact in the community.
