San Francisco mayor’s race draws big names, crowded field

SAN FRANCISCO — Eight candidates who want to be mayor of San Francisco qualified Tuesday for a June 5 election expected to pit the city’s progressive values against its economic development ambitions following years of spectacular but divisive growth driven by the technology sector.
