Bev Brody was on the same plane that brought the Kauai All Island Band (kudos on the wins!) home from the Holiday Bowl.

Laurel Loo (does the tiara mean big winner?) was coming home from spending the New Year’s in Las Vegas. Kudos to all the supporters (mahalo, Amy Nonaka for the heads-up on the band’s big wins) who filled the airport baggage claim area to welcome home the 71 students and four adult leaders…Kevin Toma came home on an earlier flight, but returned to the airport to greet the students.
Happy birthday to Isobel Storch who spent her special day at the Kauai Culinary Market in The Shops at Kukuiula (Stacie Chiba Miguel was busy “on the other line”). Helen Lacono (her birthday comes up “March forth”) turned over the soup ladle to her granddaughter Ku‘ulei Breen for the first time.
Kudos to Robin Fisher on a great Chef’s (no cooking) Demo where she had some real bee pollen to go along with the raw honey treat, and Elvrine Chow was on Oahu where she was being interviewed for the Living 808 television show.
