Congratulations to Stu Burley on being the new Kauai Veterans Council commandant!
Burley was sworn in to his new office during the annual Kauai Veterans Council annual Christmas party held at the Kauai Veterans Center before a gathering of veterans and their families.
The gathering also served to celebrate Jenni Andersen’s 100th birthday because her actual date comes up on Dec. 28, said Mary Kay Hertog. Andersen was joined by Gabriel Cataluna, who at 104 years old, is the oldest living veteran on Kauai. Andersen is the oldest living female veteran.
Charlene Dorsey also took the opportunity to present Anna Lee Broyles, the Miss Kauai Veteran, her credentials of office while Santa (aka Dan Cordes) kept an eye on the cache of presents and giveaways.
