Friday was an all-day holiday affair in Lihue as hundreds of chairs and quik tents littered the sidewalks along Rice Street in anticipation of the annual Lights on Rice Parade presented by the Rotary Club of Kauai.
Ahead of the lighting extravaganza, the Kauai Museum hosted its annual Christmas Craft Fair.
The excitement built as Elizabeth Freeman and the Friends of the Festival of Lights opened the 21st exhibition of holiday folk art heralded by the voices of the Kauai Chorale before the first strings of light appeared on Rice Street.
