Thanks to veterans, volunteers
Thanks to veterans, volunteers
In addition to honoring all veterans on Veterans Day 2017, a very special celebration was held this year to acknowledge the veterans of the Vietnam War; the men and women who answered the call to serve our country, and yet upon returning from the war, they were not fully given the recognition for that honorable service.
Ed Kawamura had a big vision and he, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, created an exceptional evening at the Marriott that will never be forgotten; not only for the heart-felt recognition, camaraderie, excellent food and service, first-class entertainment, but also for the aloha we received that somehow helped to bind and to heal lingering emotional and physical wounds of the Vietnam era. Ed certainly showed us that all things are possible with persistence, dedication and aloha, and I am deeply grateful for the stellar evening that he and all the volunteers put together to honor us and our service.
Mahalo Ed and team!

The U.S.A. sent thousands of young men and women to their deaths in Vietnam….wasted lives for an unjust war.
