Congratulations to Kauai Beach Resort General Manager Grant James and the resort’s cultural committee on the hoomanalo of its Lei Makua site Friday! What a significant event for KBR, and just in time for the holidays!

More kudos to Martin Steinhaus (he’s missing his Kauai High School boys soccer games in Hilo — mahalo to Janice Bond for the heads-up, but there was the hoomanalo of Lei Makua to attend) on another great Drug Court graduation (happy birthday to Judge Randal Valenciano, who celebrated his special day, too).
Drug Court graduations are a great reason to run into Lori Almarza, Lynette Medrano-Stine and, this time, Jimmy Sone was there along with Kauai Fire Department Chief Robert Westerman … everybody is already anticipating the 2017 Lights on Rice holiday parade presented by the Rotary Club of Kauai (have you signed up yet?).
Coach Mark Ozaki (he was at the KPD Crisis Intervention Training) said Kauai Police Activities League will have its all-girl boxing teams participating with the KPD unit. CIT graduation was also a good time to run into Terry Ann Moses of Friendship House (wow! twice in one week — mahalo for the hospitality in the Vocational Rehabilitation Outstanding Employee gathering!) who loves Kauai as much, if not more, than Miami, Florida.
OK, there’s still time to check out Joseph Figaroa and Style.Kauai at the Koloa Landing Resort.
