KEALIA — A 34-year-old Anahola man was arrested Tuesday evening following a three-car crash that temporarily closed Kuhio Highway in Kealia, and resulted in injuries.
According to police, Kevin Wilson was traveling north on Kuhio Highway in a Ford pickup truck, near the Kealia Kai subdivision, when he crossed the center line about 6:45 p.m. and crashed head-on with a Toyota pickup truck heading south, and then struck an oncoming SUV.
The driver of the Toyota pickup truck, a 24-year-old man from Kapaa, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Wilcox Hospital where he remains.
The 33-year-old female driver of the SUV and a 5-year-old female passenger, both from Kapaa, were transported to Wilcox Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were treated and released.
Wilson sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He was later arrested for first degree negligent injury, and operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant (OVUII). He has since been released pending investigation.
Kuhio Highway was closed in both directions until about 10:45 p.m. Traffic was diverted on Kealia Road during the closure.
Wilson is a punk…I heard from witnesses that his attitude was calloused, cold and that he was unconcerned that he may have killed someone.
He needs to be warehoused for a couple of years.
