Red tape keeping too many locals from owning homes
Here on Kauai we have many multi families living under one unit at grandparent’s, mom and dad’s, or uncle and aunt’s home. Some are single, some are married with children, and some are single parent with children.
Most of these people mentioned above want to move out and buy a home of their own.
Sure, there is help for them through self-built homes via Habitat for Humanity.
However, the drawback is that these people won’t qualify because of a farce in the qualification process. They would have to show that they pay a utility bill (electric, water and/or phone).
Get real, these people cannot show proof of paying any of the utilities due to the fact that the utility bill is under grandparent’s, mom and dad’s, or uncle and aunt’s resident name.
With this said, they most likely are disqualified. Then sooner or later these lots that are open get sold to outsiders from the Mainland or other countries.
As long as these people (single, married, etc.) can show proof of a bank statement with savings to back up their financial need of owning a home, their finances are in order, and they hold a job with affordable pay to pay a mortgage for the upcoming years, that is all that should matter.
Do away with this farce of having to show payment of a utility bill under their name.
The American dream is to own your own home. With this farce mentioned above, “the dream is deader than dead!”

President Trump, restore Hawaii
If President Donald Trump believes peace is achievable in Israel’s hostile environment, he can certainly conceive of thesolution to restore Hawaii.
Exercising an executive order, he’d rival Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.
World-changing possibilities, President Trump’s position could be for such a time as this. Despite naysayers, he’s provenanything is possible.
Restoring the Hawaiian Nation is viable. Establishing righteous precedents, many of the logistics are relatable to domestic andinternational affairs.
Biblical principles are culturally appropriate for land distribution, governance, and integrating peoples. It includes criteria forloving resident aliens, protection of property and dual citizenship.
In November 1917, Queen Lili‘uokalani died. Her faith in God to restore Hawaii lives on.
Lili‘uokalani’s book concludes “As they deal with me and my people, kindly, generously and justly, so may the Great Ruler ofall nations deal with the grand and glorious nation of the United States of America.”
