LIHUE — The State Commission on Water Resource Management will be holding a public hearing at the Lihue Civic Center on Nov. 17 on proposed amendments to its administrative rules pertaining to water use, wells and stream diversion works.
Proposed amendments include increasing the maximum fine amount from $1,000 to $5,000 for violations, consistent with the State Water Code; and increasing the filing fee for well construction and pump installation from $25 to $300.
The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. and is the last of five statewide hearings on the proposed rule changes.
