BOSTON (AP) — Two Connecticut teens are making history at this weekend’s Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston.
Quinlan Daly and George Lathrop, both of East Norwalk, will be the youngest youth doubles team ever to scull the renowned rowing race. The 13-year-old friends row out of the Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk.
The event starts Saturday and runs through Sunday.
The young oarsmen are raising money for Children of Fallen Patriots, a charity which gives college scholarships to the children of soldiers who have died in the line of duty.
The Head of the Charles began in 1965 and has become one of the world’s premier two-day rowing competitions.
