JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Two Wyoming high school English teachers are set to return to class after giving a computerized quiz that included the possible answer: “He was shooting at Trump.”
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports Jackson Hole High School Principal Scott Crisp notified students Friday that teachers Carin Aufderheide and Jess Tuschscherer would be back Monday.
Parents complained after a student showed his father a screenshot of a quiz about George Orwell’s 1945 novel “Animal Farm” that asked why one character fired a gun.
The newspaper found the quiz also had been administered in October 2016 by both teachers, but the school’s computer system does not identify who wrote the quiz. Aufderheide has said she didn’t write the quiz, but didn’t proofread it either. Tuschscherer has not commented.
Crisp says the issue has prompted a discussion of the role of politics in the classroom.
