ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Tech will play Georgia State in an exhibition game to raise funds for victims of recent hurricanes.
The exhibition at Georgia Tech will be played on Oct. 28 at noon and has been called the “A-Town Showdown for Hurricane Relief.” tipoff off will be at noon.
This will be the first time since December 2008 the Yellow Jackets and Panthers will play in men’s basketball.
The NCAA granted the teams a waiver for the exhibition to raise funds for victims of hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
The NCAA has granted similar waivers for Kansas-Missouri and Providence-Connecticut, among others, to raise funds to aid in relief efforts.
