Get over it, be thankful
An open letter to all the sore losers of this year’s election.
As a conservative, white, working-class, former single mother, I know how easily one can be deceived into believing they deserve more. But the fact is that you don’t. And I can totally empathize with how you feel about losing this year. It’s how the other half of the country felt for the last eight years.
The difference is that instead of crying foul-play and impeachment, we just pulled up our big-boy pants, said our prayers for our elected officials and went on with our lives. I suggest you do the same.
The beauty of the democratic system is that it’s like a baseball game. In a few short innings, your team will be up to bat again. I realize I’m speaking to the generation where “everyone gets a trophy” regardless of whether they won or lost. In the real world, there are winners and there are losers and this generation is totally unprepared to deal with the disappointment of losing.
My advice is to be thankful. Be thankful you are not living in a refugee camp today or that you don’t have to walk for miles to find water to drink. For all our complaining, this is still the best country in the world.
So instead of whining today, just go out and be responsible for yourself and your own actions. It may not change the world, but it will at least change your own life.
