Seems our demise is coming soon
Take your pick, folks! Just saw an article about a volcano near Yellowstone National Park which might be building up to the biggest blast the world has known which might bring an end to life on planet Earth!
Or, it may be the melting of the ice glaciers at the North and South poles which will cause the oceans to rise and obliterate so much of the land space all over the world.
Or, perhaps, a wandering meteorite might just slam us out of our orbit and send us whirling into space, helplessly!
Or, maybe, it will be one of those nuclear weapons coming out of North Korea to wipe out millions of people for the hell of it.
In the meantime, let’s just merrily go along and hum the tune: “Don’t Worry! Be Happy!” or “Que sera, sera! Whatever will be, will be. The future’s not ours to see … que sera, sera!” Have a great day!

President focused on wrong things
Puerto Ricans are dying from neglect. Texas and Florida are recovering from devastating hurricanes. Las Vegas is a free-firezone and California is on fire. Young Americans are being deported to foreign lands and African Americans are being huntedfor sport. Flint water has been poisoned and the Standing Rock Sioux’s water is at risk.
Meanwhile, while all this is happening, our “commander-in-chief” is playing with his nukes and trying to get football playersfired. “Make America Great Again” will make a good campaign slogan for upcoming elections. For Democrats.

Seniors deserve better care
Why can’t we take care of our needy seniors? Especially those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. I just received my 2018Medicare booklet and quickly noticed that there isn’t an index for Alzheimer’s. Ten percent of the 40 million seniors in theU.S. suffer from this disease.
Medicare offers some treatment options, up until it gets serious and the patient needs long-term care. Then the nursing careis covered by Medicaid, which isn’t free. They will come after survivors for payments, often resulting in the attachment of allassets.
Our government spends over $10 billion providing health care/benefits all over the world. Yet it can’t help these patients whohave contributed to their country for over 40 years. And still contribute to Medicare for very poor protection. We seem to offergood benefits to our immigrants, etc., but make our seniors suffer.
Would love to see the Alzheimer’s Association and/or some political leaders take up this discrepancy.
