LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Josh Allen passed for 208 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, and Wyoming scored the final 12 points and took advantage of Utah State’s five turnovers for a 28-23 win.
The Cowboys (4-2, 2-0 Mountain West) led 26-23 on Allen’s 28-yard pass to C.J. Johnson with 3:45 left. The Aggies (3-4, 1-2) reached midfield on the next possession before LaJuan Hunt fumbled and Cassh Maluia recovered for Wyoming.
Utah State forced a punt and the Cowboys’ Austin Conway pinned the Aggies at the 7. Carl Granderson sacked Kent Myers for a safety with 37 seconds left and Wyoming recovered the onside kick to secure the win.
Utah State had a 23-14 edge in first downs and outgained Wyoming 363-293 but couldn’t overcome three interceptions and two lost fumbles.
James Price had four catches for 72 yards for the Cowboys. Hunt ran 18 times for 73 yards for the Aggies.
