Good luck to Carol Wood and J.D. Cox of Coconuts Fish Cafe (they needed to be at the recent Coconut Festival presented by the Kapaa Business Association) who plan on opening doors to their restaurant in late October at the Kauai Village (Does this mean Mike Martinez of Allstate has a new place for lunch?).
For those who can’t wait, there is a website for their Maui site (Carol said the place started when the owners realized there was not enough “affordable” places to get quality food).
Carol and J.D. (Carol said J.D. is not going anywhere, soon) were at the Kauai Job Fair (kudos to the WorkWise crew on a great job — Adele Manera was busy with her clipboard).
Next door at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce office, Carol Manera Texeira and Anna Baudouin (did she make it to the Oahu photography thingie?) were busy (they didn’t even know about the post office meeting) with their seminar, and kudos to Jack Hodges for getting at least 30 photographers for the first time hosting the Scott Kelby Photowalk!
Congratulations to Robert Medeiros on opening Kuks Mini Golf — just in time for the fall break (Kurt Toma said any other time, they wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it because of school). It will continue to develop (water feature coming), but it’s a nice way to enjoy some of the historical artifacts and learn about the history of not only Kukuiolono, but Kalaheo as well.
