RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada running back Kelton Moore has been named the Mountain West Conference offensive player of the week on the strength of his 216 yards rushing Saturday and Utah State backup quarterback DJ Nelson earned special teams honor with a blocked punt return for a touchdown.
Moore, a sophomore from Arlington, Texas averaged 11.4 yards per carry and added five catches for 46 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Wolf Pack to their first victory of the season, 35-21 over Hawaii.
Nelson, a junior from Logan, Utah, blocked the punt and returned it 20 yards for his first career touchdown in a 27-14 loss to Colorado State.
Fresno State defensive back Juju Hughes was named defensive player of the week. He had a sack and forced a fumble in a 27-10 victory over San Jose State
