Coconuts! Coconuts! Chef Candace Boxer had three different coconut-flavored Ono Pops and even was able to plug in visitors to other events like Matsuri Kauai and the Princeville Market (it happened Sunday!). Mary Lardizabal said she was glad to be back after having her Kapaa Middle School Choir and Ukulele Band performing at the first Coconut Festivals, and even 5-year-old Ericka Vigilia got an early start by helping distribute programs.
Josie Pablo said the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital residents are still excited about the Friday breast cancer walk so wanted to take in the Coconut Festival instead of going to Matsuri Kauai (kudos to Pearl Shimizu, Art Umezu and all those who put it together). Josie was helping with the Rotary Club of Kapaa, whose efforts benefit the Kapaa Business Association.
