Kimura, 38, of Placentia, Calif., went to the concert with a group of seven who are part of a tight-knit group of friends who call themselves framily. On Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, Kimura was standing with her close friends, Gyurina, 34, and Elliot, when they heard a popping sound, as if one of the speakers had broken and then Kimura was hit. It wasn’t until late Monday night, that what they knew in their hearts and witnessed, was finally confirmed by officials, that Kimura was among the dozens of people killed by the sniper’s gunfire.
