CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant came out of the game after Travis Etienne’s 1-yard, third-quarter touchdown run for the second-ranked Tigers against Wake Forest on Saturday.
Bryant went into the team’s medical tent on the sidelines after trainers were examining his lower leg. He came out of the tent and remained with teammates on the sideline, but did not go back into the game. Backup Zerrick Cooper took over with the Tigers ahead 21-0.
Bryant threw for 200 yards on 21-of-29 passing with an interception and a 28-yard touchdown pass to Deon Cain. Bryant also rushed for 39 yards.
Bryant had averaged 284 yards of total offense per game and ran for seven touchdowns this season, his first as a starter taking over for national championship quarterback Deshaun Watson.
