CORRECTS SOURCE – In this photo provided by the Fugard Theatre taken on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 the cast perform in a production of “King Kong” in Johannesburg. The rise and fall of a black South African boxer known as “King Kong” inspired a 1959 musical whose black cast performed for multi-racial audiences, testing the apartheid system of that era and attracting Nelson Mandela to its opening night.
