LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — When his receivers make catches, Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen’s NFL potential looks stronger.
In a shortened stint during a 45-10 blowout of Texas State last week, Allen completed 14 of 24 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns. He extended the field with individual completions of 40 yards and 39 yards.
The previous four games were marred by receivers dropping passes. That wasn’t the case against Texas State.
Eight receivers caught passes from Allen, who left the game after one series in the fourth quarter.
Wyoming coach Craig Bohl noted that the passing game was better and more efficient.
“We certainly threw the ball and caught the ball better,” Bohl said.

HIGHLIGHTS: Allen showed his arm strength when he moved up in the pocket and, without stepping into the throw, flicked a pass 35 yards in the air down the field for a 40 yard completion to James Price. Allen also showed nice touch on a couple of throws, including one of his TD passes.
BYE WEEK: Admitting he was still recovering from some bruises he sustained during a Sept. 16 loss to Oregon, Allen will have a bye week this week to recover as the team prepares for a contest at Utah State on Oct. 14.
