CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson baseball coach Monte Lee got an additional year added on to his contract that ties him to the Tigers through the 2023 season.
The school’s board of trustees’ compensation committee approved the deal Thursday. Lee will make $450,000 this spring. His total compensation will grow to $500,000 by the end of the contract.
Lee has won 40 or more games in each of his two seasons since taking over for Hall of Famer Jack Leggett after the 2015 season. The Tigers won the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament in Lee’s first season.
Lee can earn bonuses of up to $205,000 should he win the ACC tournament and College World Series.
Lee said he in a statement he was appreciative of the confidence shown in him by Clemson’s administration.
