Yukie Hamada
“Ruth” Yukie Hamada, 97 years old of Lihue, Kauai passed away on Sept. 24, 2017, at her home in Lihue, Kauai. Born on Dec. 29, 1919, in Waimea, Kauai she was a retired housekeeper at Coco Palms & Islander on the Beach.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Ellen Roth and Linda Davis; brothers, Kane, Ta’ke, Toi, Masa and Yoshio.
She is survived by her daughters, Mildred “Millie” Kihara, Karen Kihara, Patsy Hamada, Naomi Navarro; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Nellie Nishihira; brother, Toshie (Marian) Hamada; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Breath of Life Ministries in the Rice shopping Plaza in Lihue from 1 to 1:45 p.m. where services will be celebrated at 2 p.m.

Mark Matthew Rassi
Mark Matthew Rassi formerly of Kalihiwai, passed away on Feb. 6, 2017, in Moorpark, California at the age of 65. He was born on May 6, 1951, in Lynnwood, California.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharleen Rassi; step children, Cheryl and Michael and 2 grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, Oct. 8, at Kalihiwai Bay (river side) at 1 p.m. with a pa‘ina to follow.
Funeral arrangements in California were made by the Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home.
Jeffrey J. Orsatelli
Jeffrey J. Orsatelli of Lawai, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Sept. 21, 2017, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 52. Born on Jan. 2, 1965, in Waimea, Kauai he was a foreman for Goodfellow Bros., Inc.
He was preceded in death by father, Stanley Adam Orsatelli.
He is survived by mother, Mildred Orsatelli; wife, Bridgette Orsatelli; sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, numerous aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Omao Ranch Lands, Koloa “Darryl Kanashiro’s Ranch.” Service a will be held at 4:30 p.m. Pa‘ina to follow. Casual attire

Julia Holokula Wasano, 82 years old of Hanapepe, Kauai passed away on Oct. 2, 2017, at her home. Born on March 24, 1935, in Kauai, Hawaii Julia was a house wife.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Kaleiohi; mother, Hannah Failing; 1st husband, Blas Castillo; 2nd husband, Alvin Wasano; son, Sterling Castillo; great granddaughter, Samariaagalelei Auelua.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Coral) Castillo of Hanapepe, Quintin Castillo of San Francisco; daughters, Brenda (Manuel) Villareal of Kapaa, Adele (Chuck) Fields of Georgia, Marla (Randy) Soliven of Lihue, Shantal Quelua of Lihue; 8 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Elaine Fernandez of Anahola, Florence (Joe) Narvis of Anahola, Esther (Bic) Pezario of Anahola; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Harriet Misayo Kimura, 86 Years old of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Sept. 19, 2017, in Lihue, Kauai. Born on Oct. 23, 1930, in Lihue, Kauai, she was a retired clerk at Wilcox Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tsunaichi Iwamoto; mother, Haru Iwamoto; husband, Richard Motoi Kimura; Tetsuo, Haruo, Hiroshi and Satoru Iwamoto, Yoshiko Hadama, Fumiyo Horie and Alice Tadai.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Herbert) Hirota, Michelle (Placido) Valenciano; brothers, John (Asako) Iwamoto, Richard (Doris) Iwamoto, Henry (Sachi) Iwamoto; grandchildren, Allison Hirota; Stephen Valenciano, Ryan Valenciano; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Garden Island Mortuary from 10 a.m. and services will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
