Delia Valentin
Delia Valentin of Kapaa died Sept. 21, 2017, at the age of 63. She was born in Honolulu on Oct. 30, 1953, and was an actress.
She is survived by husband Morgan Liddell, son Marqus, mother Lucia and brother Adelino Jr.

Michael John Devine
Michael John Devine of Poipu died peacefully at home on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at the age of 70.
He was born on July 11, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and retired as a Realtor.
He was preceded in death by father Frank Devine, mother Lorraine Jernell and sister Mary Fran Klukow. His daughter Shannon Devine recently died on Sept. 24, 2017.
He is survived by wife Mary Devine, daughter Cristina (James Banks) Devine, grandchildren (children of Shannon Devine) Kendra Pringle-Devine and Oliver Pringle, stepson Derek (MaryBeth) Moll, children of Derek, Sophia, Holden, Carter and Asher Moll; brothers Richard Devine of Massachusetts, Mark and Chris Devine and sister Cathy Devine, all of Minnesota, extended family and numerous friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Minnesota.

Landis Fulton Ignacio, 61, passed away on Sept. 23, 2017 at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on June 8, 1956, in Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, he was an agriculture consultant.
He was preceded in death by daughter Joslyn Ann Ignacio, father Frank Ignacio and mother Mercy Costa Ignacio.
He is survived by wife Lisa Dusenberry Ignacio of Kekaha, daughters Sasha (Trevor) Espina-Ignacio of Kekaha and Loke (Michael Yaris) Dusenberry of Kekaha, grandchildren Makena Espina-Ignacio of Kekaha and Mahina Espina- Ignacio of Kekaha, in-laws Franklin Douglas (Linda) Dusenberry of Waimea, brothers Xavier (Janice) Ignacio of Hanapepe and Vance Ignacio of Kekaha, sister Jolene (John) Gentry of Honokaa, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha, from 9 to 10:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.
The family suggests aloha attire.

Caroline “Kelly” T. Unciano, 90, of Waimea, passed away on Sept. 27, 2017, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 26, 1927 in Lawai.
She was preceded in death by husband Catalino Unciano, father Paulino Tulliau, mother Juana Marselina Tulliau, and sister Mary T. Costales.
She is survived by sons Larry “Jazz” (Charlotte) Unciano of Kekaha and Roland “Togo” (Andy) Unciano of Kapolei, daughter Carmen (Jason) Kamiya of Texas, grandchildren Lisa (Gregg) Gaspar, Darryl (Marlene) Unciano, Melanie (Mike) Reece, Jessica (Jason) Scanlan, Kelly Kamiya and Jamie (Daniel) Santos, great-grandchildren Tanica Gaspar, Kristian Matsumoto, Alema, Natalia, Milan and Aviana Scanlan, Lauryn and Alana Unciano and Britney Fernandes, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Oct. 6, at Waimea Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church from 9 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Mervin William ‘Buddy’ Kanoa
Mervin William “Buddy” Kanoa, 86, passed away on Sept. 21, 2017, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Born on Nov. 23, 1930 in Kekaha, he was a retired as a heavy equipment operator with the County of Kauai at the Kekaha Sanitary Landfill.
He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Julia Kanoa, brothers Joseph and Neill Kanoa, sister Ellen “Daling” Young, and grandson Lon Canon.
He is survived by wife Lucy Ruiz Kanoa, son Roderick (Ruth) Kanoa of Kekaha, daughters Paulette Kanoa of Nevada and Pamela (Tom) Courtney of Kekaha, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sisters Juliet “Tita” Aiu of Wailua and Lorraine Like of Reno, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Oct. 5, at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha from 9 to 10:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Joseph Kapua Ponimoi Jr., 80, of Kilauea, passed away on Sept. 28, 2017, at his home in Kilauea.
Born on April 1, 1937, in Honolulu, he was a retired groundskeeper for Honolulu Country Club.
He was preceded in death by wife Rose K. Doiron Ponimoi, father Joseph K. Ponimoi Sr., and mother Millie H. Kaaihue Ponimoi.
He is survived by son Lenley Doiron of Kapaa, daughters Thamie Jo “Honey Honey” Ponimoi of Kilauea and Karen “Lehua” (Kevin Christian) Doiron of Kapaa, grandchildren Kunane (Kris) Mersberg, Jennifer “Kamalei” Doiron and Aulana Christian, great-grandchildren Kaikunane Mersberg and Kiliohu Christian-Tanioka, brother Benjamin Lum of Oahu, sisters Beatrice Goulas of Oahu and Mabel Fernandes of California, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

William — known to those closest to him as Bill or Willy — passed away peacefully on Sept. 17, 2017, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born in Long Beach, California, he lived the majority of his rich life on Kauai. He was preceded in death by mother Zeta Chloe Ellenburg and father Robert Reynolds Glover.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Peggy Ellenburg, son Nick (Stephie) Ellenburg, daughter Jennifer (Jay) DeBardlabon, hanai daughter Martine Melillo, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will celebrate his life on Saturday, Oct. 7, first with a paddle out at 9: a.m. at Kalihiwai Beach, and again at 2:30 p.m. at the Frear Center located on the Island School campus in Puhi.
