WAIMEA — “Nightmare in Waimea” is looking for people interested in decorating their own section of the “Haunted Village” Halloween maze slated Oct. 26-28 at Waimea Canyon Park.
Those interested in decorating their own section can reserve a space anywhere between 20 and 100 feet. There is no fee. Set-up for the maze will begin on Oct. 24 and decorating will begin Oct. 25.
Nightmare in Waimea is a free, three-day event centered around the “Haunted Village” Halloween maze which is built and decorated by local families, groups and businesses.
Admission to the maze is a donation of a canned good. The event collects about 1,500 canned goods each year.
Coordinated by volunteers, the goal of Nightmare in Waimea is to provide a fun Halloween event that benefits local food drives in preparation for the holiday season.
The Nightmare in Waimea team is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Waimea Neighborhood Center. The public is welcome.
