LIHUE — In honor of National Falls Prevention Awareness Day on Friday, the Agency on Elderly Affairs is reminding caregivers and kupuna of services offered to prevent falling, promote general well-being and ensure safe living conditions.
The Agency on Elderly Affairs in partnership with the Kauai Fire Department, American Medical Response and the Hawai‘i State Department of Health is offering the Fall Prevention and Wellness Program for kupuna, aged 60 and older.
“I encourage all our kupuna and caregivers to take advantage of this beneficial program that ensures the safety and well-being of our kupuna,” said Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr.
Services include:
• Scheduled home inspections;
• Installation of fall and fire prevention equipment;
• Medication review and health checks.
