LIHUE — Alan van Zee had a new location to cut his hair Monday.
“Janeth used to cut my hair when she was with Master Cuts,” van Zee said. “I’m just following her to her new location, Accent Cuts.”
Janeth Iwasaki and Laverne Inanod opened doors to their new hair salon in the building also occupied by Sotheby’s Sleeping Giant Realty in Lihue Thursday.
Iwasaki said Accent Cuts is about hair, the mission statement offering “hair services for ohana.”
“We cut, color, stylize and up do for special occasions,” Iwasaki said. “Laverne came to us from His & Hers in the Rice Shopping Center when their main designer retired. We have been pretty busy for a new shop. People have been calling, and we have had some walk-ins.”
Accent Cuts, 4480 Ahukini Rd., is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
