Congratulations to Janice Chun on getting the random drawing (business cards) big prize at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce and Kauai Community College Business After Hours gathering! Sharon Lasker (kudos on another great kupuna art showcase at the Regency at Puakea!) won an online class (gotta go check with Peggy Lake on what this is all about), and Gary Elwood (mahalo on doing a great job with the light placements!) could cruise without his media gear since he said this was not a “university event.”
Happy birthday to Lyn McNutt who could celebrate with a glass of wine (Cami Matsumoto and Peggy Lake did a great job behind the table), and it was a pleasure to meet Valerie Barko of the University Center. Vice Chancellor James Dire missed out (we were going to do a Milky Way thing until the clouds changed the plans) since he was on Oahu, but Chancellor Helen Cox announced the accreditation of both the culinary arts (those banana treats — thank you, Sandi Kato-Klutke for the donation — looked sumptuous) and nursing departments on the highest levels.
Phil Worwa (he was teaching the culinary arts people how to make roses out of cocktail napkins) is going to call Josie Pablo for the Santa (it’s not too early) gig for Mahelona Hospital’s holiday lighting, and Greg Askew and Candice Boxer said we gotta wait for the Kauai Made trade show to check out their new Ono Pops offering.
