Kudos to Kauai Christian Academy Athletic Director/Coach Chris Cullen and his crew of athletes who jumped right into the Kauai Interscholastic Federation fall season! Chris had four bowlers on the lanes Thursday (Jana Sheatz and Sophia Marvel were even at Kukui Grove taking a break from the school’s fundraising buffet pancake breakfast Saturday, being joined by one of the school’s three cross country runners).
Carol Manera Texeira has a new camera just in time for all the excitement, taking a lot of pictures from within the sea of red Saturday night when the Kauai High School girls volleyball team (congrats, Coach Kehau Regidor!) took Waimea in three sets (and, how about Coach Gary Maguire, Tescily England and the Island School team getting past Kapaa?) … and she didn’t even have to wait until Black Friday when Anna Baudouin (did you sign up for Jack Hodges’ PhotoWalk yet?) went to Honolulu to get hers.
Juliana Tampus (got to go meet the new Kapaa cross country coaches) said, “Don’t forget about us!” Nope — congratulations to air riflery Coach Ian Versammy whose Warriors got the best scores of the week (mahalo, Greg Gonsalves for chasing down the results during the volleyball game), and Jason Caldeira and his Menehune football players are excited about Saturday’s football game — games change to daytime since it’s past Sept. 15.
