KAPAA – The Mayor’s Advisory Committee for Treatment and Community Integration will host “Drug Addiction 101,” a community meeting at Kapaa Missionary Church from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Brian Kohatsu, chair for the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Treatment and Community Integration, will speak about drug and alcohol treatment and resources.
“We are uniting as a community and as one big ohana to provide resources and support for those who are dealing with alcoholism and addiction in their families,” Kohatsu said. “Our hope is to begin the healing process within our community one family at a time.”
The meeting provides the community an opportunity to share personal experiences with others, while gaining insight on substance abuse.
