Two more hole-in-ones occurred last week at the Princeville Makai Golf Club to bring the month’s total to four — both on the course’s third hole overlooking Hanalei Bay.
Cliffe Cheston, of Villanova, Pa., used an 8-iron to hit the ball 150 yards. Cheston was shocked after watching the ball roll six feet into the cup.
Cheston’s hole-in-one was witnessed by wife Cheryl, son Alex and son-in-law Ralph.
The following day, Gordon Steinman, of Colleyville, Texas, wielded a 7-iron to hit his ball 158 yards into the cup. It’s his first hole-in-one in 40 years of playing.
Both Cheston and Steinman were awarded the flag from that day’s flagstick as is the custom at Princeville Makai.
