KEKAHA — A fire caused an estimated $25,000 in damage to a Kekaha home Wednesday night.
The adult male occupant was not home at the time. There were no injuries.
Firefighters from the Waimea fire station were dispatched around 5:45 p.m. to a fire on Io Road. The fire was located in a first-floor bedroom of a multi-family dwelling. Firefighters extinguished the blaze from outside of the bedroom’s window and were able to prevent the flames from spreading.
The scene was cleared at about 7:30 p.m.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross are assisting the man who lived there.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
