Pedro ‘Sonny’ Bacio
Pedro “Sonny” Bacio was born on Jan. 30, 1938, in Waimea. He peacefully passed away at his home in Waimea on Aug. 11, 2017, surrounded by his family. He is a retired plantation worker with Gay & Robinson Inc. He spent his life enjoying fishing and spending time with those he held dear to him.
He was preceded in death by parents Isidoro Bacio and Aquillina Bacio, sister Lorraine Corbet, brother Rodney Bacio and stepdaughter Catherine Parinas.
He is survived by his life time partner Amancia Parinas of Waimea, daughter Phrystal Bacio of Kalaheo, sisters Josephine Brede of Anahola, Annette (Bert) Moriguchi of Kailua and Geraldine (William) Salsbury of Las Vegas, brothers Fredrick (Momi) Bacio of Makaweli and Kurt (Nellie) Bacio of Makaweli, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be private and held at a later date.
Thomas Adam ‘Kaipo’ Chandler Sr.
Thomas Adam “Kaipo” Chandler Sr., of Haena, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Aug. 11, 2017, at the age of 96. He was born in Kahili, Kauai, on March 26, 1921. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired after 37 years as a heavy equipment operator for Gay & Robinson Inc.
He was preceded in death by parents William John Chandler and Rosaline Kanahele Gooman Chandler, wife Adeline Kauimalamalama William Chandler, siblings Angeline Texeira, Silas Chandler, William Chandler, John Chandler, Elizabeth Awana, Roseline Andrade, Agnes Chandler, Lucy Espinneva, Francis Chandler, Leo Chandler, Mary Silvas, Anthony J. Chandler and Michael Chandler.
He is survived by his wife Kiet Chandler, son Thomas (Wilma) Chandler Jr. of Anahola, granddaughter Summer Akiko Chandler, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Waioli Hui‘ia Church in Hanalei, with viewing from 8:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Chandler family with arrangements.

Aurora Afaga Bombay
Aurora Afaga Bombay, 77, of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, formerly of Kapaa, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in the Philippines.
Born on Aug. 13, 1940, she was a retired seamstress.
She is survived by husband Benito Ramos Bombay, son Sam (Justina) Bombay, daughters Myrna (David) Masuda, Eden (Tim Fabiana) Santos and Loida (Rodney Chun Jr.) Levinthol, brothers Franklin (Estrella) Afaga and Pastor (Juliet) Afaga Jr., sisters Cion (Maximo) Abunales, Jesusa (Marino) Acidera and Mely (John) Melchor, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents Pastor Afaga Sr. and Maxima Magaoay Afaga and brothers Roman (Anita) Afaga and Cornelio (Filomena) Afaga.
Viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 1, from 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 9 a.m., both at the Bombay Resident in Brgy. 32, Corocor, Barcarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
Stephanie Barbara Campos Arthur
Stephanie Barbara Campos Arthur of Lihue passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 19, 2017, at the age of 67.
She was born in Waimea on Dec. 26, 1949, and was working for the SANS Institute.
She was preceded in death by father Eusebio Campos, mother Elena Bueno Campos Tejada Alejo, brother Carlo Campos and sister Rebecca Campos.
She is survived by husband Martin “Mark” Arthur of Lihue, son Eric Arthur of Portland, Oregon, daughter Marj (Nicholas) Caputo of Portland, Oregon, brothers and sisters Gerry (Ron) Snow of Valrico, Florida, Arline Nimori of Hawthorne, California, Roland (Mary) Campos of Mesa, Arizona, Edwin (Genara) Campos of Kapolei, Mels “Honey Girl” Tejada of Anahola, grandchildren Isabel, Luke, Asher and Sam Arthur of Portland, Oregon, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be held at the Lawai Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Sunday, Aug. 27, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire.

James Allen Michael Scott Kalani Ha‘o Bergado
James Allen Michael Scott Kalani Ha‘o Bergado passed away July 13, 2017, at the age of 28. He was born in Lihue on Dec. 12, 1988. He was a hardline merchandiser at Big Kmart Kauai.
He was preceded in death by grandma Millie Ha‘o, grandpa Larry Ha‘o Sr. and papa Ricky Tumacder.
He is survived by dad Larry Ha‘o, mom Melaney Ha‘o-Bergado, brother Liko Ha‘o Bergado and grandma Emilia Tumacder, all of Hanamaulu, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A gathering of his family and friends will be held at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall on Friday, Aug. 25, with viewing beginning at 9 a.m. and a program starting at 10 a.m. Viewing will continue to 1 p.m.
