The Philippine Island Hawaiian Island Bicycling Club Kauai will be hosting the Kauai Metric Century Ride and Fun Ride on Saturday starting at 7:30 a.m. at Lydgate Beach Park. Riders have the option of doing the full metric century course
The Philippine Island Hawaiian Island Bicycling Club Kauai will be hosting the Kauai Metric Century Ride and Fun Ride on Saturday starting at 7:30 a.m. at Lydgate Beach Park.
Riders have the option of doing the full metric century course or parts of the course, including a 50k run or a 25k course.
A fun ride for youth below 18 years old will be available on Ke Ala Hele Makalae, the multi-use path.
The ride is done under the auspices of USA Cycling. Riders who plan on participating in the ride but are not members of USA Cycling will have the option of registering for the event.
The ride options start and end at the Lydgate Park. Riders on the 25k course will travel on Ke Ala Hele Makalae to the path’s end in Kealia and back to Lydgate.
Riders on the half metric century, or 50k, will follow the 25k route with the addition of traveling to Nawiliwili before returning to Lydgate.
The full metric century ride combines the routes of the 25k, 50k, and has the addition of traveling to Poipu before returning to Lydgate.
Registration can be done online at www.pihicyclingclub.com. Registration can also be done Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn Wailua Bay from 3 to 8 p.m. Race packets will be available at this time.
