Amy Chun said she spoke with people who noticed the growing number of dogs taking part in the Alzheimer’s Walk (did we congratulate Dr. Laurel Coleman on a great event?). Alvin and Susan Uchida will be at the Bark for Life Saturday with Kuma (they were with Bark for Life from the first event!), and Louise Alberti from California, Susan’s college roommate.
Maureen Nuccio Hiraga said she has the afternoon shift so might take Saeger to check out the Bark for Life at Hokuala, and Jan Woo of Barkaroo will be there as well. Bev Pang (she had the green shirt at the Relay for Life of North Shore) said she might consider doing one of the adoptables for the Kauai Humane Society.
Happy birthday to Olivia Gegen who was not playing violin at the Kauai Community Market because it was her special day to spend on the North Shore (Isobel Storch said Florrie was doing the market out there, too).
Arnold Leong was continuing his culinary offerings at the Alzheimer’s Walk (he said the apple-filled Flying Saucers at the Mahelona Hospital bon dance was the bomb!) where Kenny Ishii couldn’t wait to start flipping the pancakes and Rose Anne Jones of the American Association of University Women said Katie Welch was a “pint-sized, power-packed” volunteer, and Emma Cummings wanted “one more picture.”
