Wow! Congratulations to Betty Bell, who has been a Zontian for 50 years (that is a lot of Eat Dessert Firsts)! Betty was recognized for her long term of service to the Zonta Club with a cake presented by Dimples Kano, who claims she is the oldest and shortest member of the club.
MaBel Fujiuchi (Chief Brian wasn’t there this time) created a commemorative 50th anniversary pillow for Betty, and presented it during the club’s meeting at the Regency at Puakea.
The Zonta legacy continues as Lisa Arin, Zonta Club of Kauai’s membership chair, led the induction of four new members: Teresa Matthews, Vivian Nickerson, Linda Kaye Nicholls and Lori Benkert.
Of course, a visit to the Regency is always a good opportunity to visit with Pam Arroyo and Sharon Lasker (as long as it’s not Mondays).
OK, it’s Sunday and there’s still time to catch a full day of action at the Heiva I Kauai (is Bev Pang doing the silent auction?) at Kapaa Beach Park. Gates open at 9 a.m. and Cathy Teri‘ipaia takes to the mic from 10 a.m.
