Jani Okura is a team mom for Tsunami Taiko and will be leaving Monday for Seattle for treatment of bone marrow transplant.
Tsunami Taiko will host a benefit concert Sunday at the historic Waimea Theater with the doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and the concert starting at 5. Proceeds will go toward helping Okura with airfare and housing.
“She has been a bit shy about letting people know,” said Joanne Parongao, Tsunami Taiko director. “However, she agreed to let us do this concert for her. She will be away from us for at least three months for the treatment.”
