Be part of the solution
What really makes a difference is the extent to which people will take the time to become involved and be willing to participate in ways to “make things better” — where you live, in what you do, and how things “get done.”
It’s when the “silent majority” stays that way that things begin to fall apart which lets lethargy set in. So, it’s the same old story about being a part of the effort to address the concerns which require your time and attention to “fix a problem”… to “accomplish something”… to “make a difference” in what’s happening around you.
So, make that effort! Go beyond just mumbling and grumbling. Share your talent and/or wisdom. Be a part of the solution instead of merely being a pointer of the problem.
It really has to do with the “essence of aloha” and the willingness to take care of our environment the best way we know how.
Give it a shot! Mo bettah la dat!

Trump’s actions not entertaining
I woke up this morning to read how “entertained” James “Kimo” Rosen is of the current administration. I remember how hetouted his support for Donald Trump throughout the campaign.
I, however, am not entertained. In fact, I’m broken-hearted, waking each morning to see American values and civil libertieseroded and our place as leader of the free world abdicated.
A madman as Commander-in-Chief who has escalated the conflict with nuclear North Korea is not entertaining to me.
The administration working effortlessly and daily to take away health care from tens of millions of people and raise premiumsfor others in not entertaining to me.
Families containing otherwise law-abiding working-class undocumented people are torn apart daily by deportations handledwith no care or discernment. This isn’t entertaining to me.
A Justice Department that has already diminished its enforcement of the Civil Rights Act and even yesterday weighed in thatme being gay no longer protects me or others from workplace discrimination isn’t entertaining.
Daily mounting evidence that the current administration actively colluded with Russia to attack the sovereignty of ourelections — the very foundation of democracy in America — isn’t entertaining to me.
A first family blatantly ignoring the nepotism, ethics standards and emoluments clause of the Constitution to personallyenrich themselves isn’t entertaining to me.
The president and draft-dodger tweeting that a minimum of 6,000 active U.S. troops are no longer welcome in the U.S.military because they are transgendered isn’t entertaining.
That the president has damaged strategic alliances that took decades and even centuries to build for America while cozyingup to strongmen and dictators around the world is not entertaining to me.
And I must stop here because The Garden Island isn’t big enough to contain all the tragedies that happen every day from thecandidate Mr. Rosen voted for.
I’m just hoping the horror movie comes to an end soon.
