KALAHEO — Three Kaulupono eighth-grade division girls hit double-digits in the team’s 41-25 rout over the Ao uka Rebels on Monday night during the playoffs for the summer youth basketball league at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Kaye Serapio dropped 13 points, Hazel Serapio added 11 and Braelyn Cayaban finished with 10 points in the Kaulupono win. Mackenna Tamanaha put in six points to lead the Rebels’ effort.
In other action, Olivia Malafu topped the Dream Team’s scoring with 14 points in its 20-10 win over the Kauai Lynx in the fifth-grade girls division matchup. Jazlyn Phillips knocked in four points for the Lynx.
The final game saw Isaac Mirey and Joshua Rego lead the Kauai Thunder with 12 and 10 points respectively as the Thunder got past the Lihue Lakers, 30-17. Bryan Brown and Dylan Watanabe each scored six points in the effort.
Playoff games for the summer youth basketball league continue Thursday with three games on tap at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center starting at 6 p.m.
