Thomas Awong of Sueoka Market (he wasn’t in the group shot for the ad) said there are some of the items (i.e., cheeseburgers, noodles and more) from the Snack Shop available pre-packaged and ready to go in the mornings. Those are for people who have the ono for Sueoka’s Snack Shop items, but are greeted by lines.
Yan Zheng (Placido Valenciano said she’s from China via the University of Chicago) got a treat when her first day of interning at the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (even Peter Klune made it to the opening) coincided with the opening of the Kawaihau Road boardwalk to the sea (Lt. Col. Troy Cramer said at an earlier Tropic Care Kauai briefing that he would be back, and he did return with the Red Caps to complete the project). Good job being VIP parking attendant Lauren Guest!
Mark Oyama let his Contemporary Flavors Catering crew try out the path (and the view) before getting busy with refreshments for the opening, and Carrice Gardner and Kaulana Finn used their healthy watches to gauge that it is 1,000 steps down, and another 1,000 coming back up.
OK, off to see the Kauai Culinary Market and the Koloa Plantation Days historic exhibit at The Shops at Kukuiula.
