Happy Sunday! Stephanie Shinno (did you folks go check out their baked goods/rummage sale at the Garden Island Federal Credit Union to benefit the Kauai Independent Food Bank?) said Kauai Community Federal Credit Union is hosting an evening at Troy’s starting at 4 p.m. as part of the Kauai Credit Unions’ Fifteen for Fifteen campaign … all to help KIFB.
Kudos to Teddy Blake and Malama Kauai on getting all those hands from E Alu Pu to get the restoration of the pohaku wall on Hapa Road going (Daniel Schmidt said if he knew this was happening, he would’ve arranged for a day off to help with the chicken-skin event). Teddy will be on hand to tell you the significance of Hapa in a few weeks when the Hapa Trail walk opens as part of the Koloa Plantation Days celebration (they were cleaning Maluhia Road — aka The Tree Tunnel — as part of this week-long celebration).
Josie Pablo said there are several styles of the commemorative Mahelona Hospital 100th birthday shirt (big luau is Saturday!) so people interested in getting one for their wardrobe (check out the quilt made from all the commemorative shirts of previous Mahelona Hospital events in the lobby) need to call the hospital.
