LIHUE — Joshua Dasalia-Soto, 26, of Lihue, was sentenced Wednesday by 5th Circuit Court Judge Kathleen Watanabe to five years in prison for illegal possession of hydrocodone.
On Sept. 29, 2016, Dasalia-Soto was in the process of being arrested for a domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend when he was found to be in the possession of the unprescribed narcotics, according to a release from the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
On May 22, Dasalia-Soto was sentenced to serve jail time and probation, including domestic violence intervention counseling, in the case arising out of the domestic violence incident.
Although placed on supervised release pending sentencing in the drug case, Dasalia-Soto repeatedly failed to comply with the terms of his release while out of custody, the release said.
