Lucena Balaan Rivera
Lucena Balaan Rivera, 87, of Koloa, passed away on June 13, 2017, at her home in Koloa.
Born on Oct. 19, 1929, in the Philippines, she was a retired housekeeper with Sunset Kahili.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Rivera.
She is survived by sons Edwin (Letty) Rivera, Roland (Carmen) Rivera, Edgar (Celeste) Rivera and Fredy Rivera, daughters Susan Reynolds, Linda Otani, Eva (Calvin) Tamagawa and Anita (Paul) Applegate, sisters Carol Hafalla and Emilia Rubio, 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa from 8 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park cemetery.

John Stanley Bertrand
John Stanley Bertrand, 83, of Lihue, passed away on June 8, 2017, at Straub Hospital.
Born on Jan. 12, 1934, in Hawaii, he was a retired as a manager with Officer’s Club.
He is survived by his nephew John W. Bertrand of Honolulu and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Church from 9 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Philip Panquites Jr.
Philip Panquites Jr., 92, of Kilauea, passed away on May 16, 2017. Born on March 5, 1925, in Hawaii, he was a retired parks caretaker for the County of Kauai.
He is survived by son Philip (Blanche) Panquites III, daughters Lynn (Philip) Steeno and Cindi (Ken) Shimonishi, sister Katherine Vares, 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friend may visit with the family on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at St. Sylvester Church in Kilauea from 8:30 a.m. Services will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.
