LIHUE — A Waimea man pleaded guilty Monday to kidnapping.
David Machado, 29, appeared before Judge Kathleen Watanabe relating to an incident that took place on Sept. 27, 2016 involving his wife.
He pleaded guilty to intentionally or knowingly restraining his wife with intent to terrorize her, a class B felony.
“Intimate partner violence destroys families and harms our community,” said Justin Kollar, prosecuting attorney. “Our office will continue to vigorously prosecute those who inflict harm and suffering on their families and loved ones.”
Machado will be sentenced on Aug. 30.
