Politics are the problem
In response to Kimo Rosen’s most recent letter in TGI, “No politics on Memorial Day.”
It is politics that ultimately put those brave soldiers in the ground.

Bigotry, racial bias are alive and well on Kauai
Has anyone noticed the sign on the back of a trailer parked on the mauka side of Kuhio Highway, near Fernandes Road, across from Plantation Hale and the new Longs in Kapaa?
In case you haven’t seen it, the sign reads, “Why do haole’s lie, kill and steal (sic).”
The trailer is most likely on private property and yes, there is freedom of speech on Kauai, but this message is deeply disturbing and very offensive.
Racial chants in any form, do not belong here or anywhere, and does not represent Kauai’s aloha spirit. To the owner of the sign, please remove it.

President Trump has many faults
We have a bleached blonde bubble head troll doll as president.
He wants to do away with The Paris Climate accord.
He is abrasive and self centered.
He was shown pushing aside a leader , riding in a golf cart as other world leaders walked
In unison in support of NATO.
He dismissed Article Five.
This behavior is a classic example of bullying.
A Democracy is being destroyed as we watch the dismantling of our nation by the Trump greed.
“We the people,” the backbone of any democracy, has been pushed aside in exchanged for profits for the rich.
I believe the White House is now a Whitewash House in need of repair.
The world is not in sync, the oppressed and the humble will not see the other side of the mountain nor will our country’s people be asked what “we can do, as it’s citizens of our great nation” to make our democracy the envy of the world, as it once was.
We need to impeach greed.
