Daniel Degracia was going crazy, setting up last-minute video accommodations for U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s media team (always nice to see Jennifer Henderson and Kaulana Finn), and Gabriel Cataluna, the oldest living Kauai veteran, arrived early to get a good spot in the shade (American Medical Response’s Star of Life Lisa Johnshoy was among the first responders coming to the aid of someone before the ceremonies).
Larry Manuel was thrilled to have his granddaughter Randi Dela Cruz of Utah enjoy the service with him, and Blaze Batoon (he even took time to visit his grandparents’ graves while doing flag detail) is waiting until after camp to enjoy his moi.
Kudos to Stu Burley who did a masterful job behind the microphone, and kudos to Kauai Lions Club members Justin Kollar and Juno Apalla (where do we drop off slippers?) who didn’t have to twist any tails from the West Kauai Lions who put out refreshments.
