Vicente Garduque Tumaneng
Vicente Garduque Tumaneng, born on March 2, 1972, in Claveria Cagayan, Philippines, passed away on April 4, 2017, at Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital.
The son of Bonifacio and Carlina Tumaneng Sr., he is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Armin and Elfie Tumaneng of Hanapepe, Bonie and Joyce Tumaneng of Hanamaulu, brother Carbonn Tumaneng of Honolulu, sister Lida Tumaneng of Hanamaulu, children Brandon and Braxton Simpliciano of Kekaha and Branddy Dimples Tumaneng of the Philippines, aunts and uncles Filemon and Esperanza Yago of Puhi, the late Ernesto and Carmen Baltazar of Kapaa, Severo and Magdalena Tumaneng of Seattle, Washington, the late Silvestre and Fely Tumaneng, and Toribio and Letticia Tumaneng of the Philippines, and many cousins, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 29 in Claveria, Philippines.
Family and friends are invited to a one-night home prayer at 4235 Kaulu Place, Hanamaulu, on June 7, at 6 p.m.
Barney Mateo
Barney Mateo passed away at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on April 29, 2017, at the age of 84.
He was a U.S Army veteran and a retired County of Kauai Planning Department inspector.
He was preceded in death by his sister Carmen Bostick.
He is survived by his wife Jane Mateo, daughters Janil (Keola) Ke of Kauai, Leiko (Vince) Bedoya of Oahu and Pam (Chris) Patrinos of Oahu, brother Ben (Bea) Mateo of California, sisters Mary (Ritchie) Gentry of California, Rose Michael of Kauai and Youngie (Dean) Akita of California, three grandchildren and numerous nieces and newphews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 3, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. with services to follow at noon.
Burial will be held at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.

Irene Chiyoko (Tanaka) Fujita, 81, of Koloa, passed away at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on May 18, 2107. She was born on Aug. 22, 1935, in Waialua, Oahu, where she was also raised.
She is survived by her daughters Corlis K. Moritsugu of Koloa and Wanda S. (Fred) Goo of Carson, California, grandchildren Bricen S. Moritsugu of Koloa, Nadine M.L (Michael S.) Park of Mililani, and Ashley (Richard) Bee, Randall (Emily) Goo and Logan Goo, all of California, great-grandchildren Emma K.C. Park and Nainoa K.K. Park, Ryan Bee and Khali Goo, siblings Lillian (Kenneth) Kusunoki, Howard Tanaka, Leslie Tanaka, Janet (Stan) Inouye, Elaine (Don) Ishiara, Joy (Randy) Kodo and Curt (Lori) Tanaka.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Fujita and parents Shoichi and Michie (Kubota) Tanaka.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
